A Taste of It
When It is pointing, we attend. It says "ehh" and we look. It becomes what we see and feel and hear. When Its meaning reaches us, we see It, hear It and feel It. When It points, it points to real things. Things It knows. Things It has experienced before. Organic things. Things of this earth.
Like a child, It wants our attention. It makes us look. It points to things out there. To what is beyond us. To what at this point in time we are not. To what we become. It identifies what is out there before us with what is in us. With what was in us before It pointed. With what is similar in us to It. With what It is here and now.
It captures us, and by doing so, changes us. A name for It comes. A name comes to us for that which It is pointing to. What It is about. It wants us to understand. It wants to be named. It wants to be named, so It can be spoken about. So It can be shared with others, in language. It wants life. To become alive. To have a life of Its own. To grow and grow and grow. If we let It.
Once It has us, It changes and becomes another It. And It does so again and again and again. It repeats. With It, what we hear and see and feel changes. It becomes what we see and hear and feel again. And we see It again, differently. It makes us look again and takes our attention again. It does this again and again and again. It goes away and comes back to us. It flows.
It flows out there and points back. In this way, It makes sense. In this way, It gives meaning. In this way, It tells us what It is about. It speaks of what It is pointing to. It speaks of what is being pointed to by ‘It’. Like a child points with a hand to what It wants. To what becomes for us when we see what It is pointing to. To what when, we see It, becomes It for us. To what becomes our It.
Here It points in language again and again and again. To things It knows. It does this until It makes sense. Until we understand what It wants. Until we can feel what It is about. It points. Again and again and again. Here It comes again. It looks like the first and yet It is different. It wants to say something. It repeats what is being talked about. It describes what is happening and remembers.
It calls us to listen. It wants our attention. It wants to make sense. It wants to mean something. It wants to speak. Can you hear it speaking to us? Some time passes, some things change and It speaks again. Did you hear It? It was said. A speaker spoke It. A speaker named It.
We were given It. It was given to us. It came to us from out there, from beyond us to us. We are part of It. We were born of It. All things known to us were born of It. It remains part of all things known to us. This It which points and which all things point to. This it we see and hear. This It which is now and not yet and again and already. It was always there. Waiting to be called. “It”.
Did you hear It again? This second time? The same as the first and different. The same and different, like leaves on a tree. What does It want? It wants to repeat. It wants to happen. It wants to be. It wants to become real, organic. It wants words and actions. It wants a place. It wants to be here and now. It wants to communicate.
It speaks of things beyond words. It changes things and with It things change. It comes and goes and changes. It comes to us now just as It came to us before. When It came to us for the first time. And It will come to us again, when we are ready. If we let It. If we open our Self to It. If we have the heart for It. If we can recognise It. Can you feel It coming? Come. Here It comes!
Feel It. It gives energy. It gives life. It gave to us then just at It gives to us now. It continues. It is all things and all things are part of It. It warms us. It made us then and continues to give. It warms us when we feel It’s strength. Like our sun. It continues to give now just as It did before.
We are of It, It is not of us. Whether we like It or not, It was before we were. It was when we were not yet. It is greater than us. It gives, we receive. It does us, not we It. We react, afterwards. We like It or not. This It we see and feel. If we like It, we want It to stay. We want It to always be with us. We want It to be with us again and again and again. We want It to repeat.
When we think we have It, It goes away. It must. It must go away, to come back. It must remain out there. It happens before us and It happens within us and yet we, who know, know It comes from beyond us, from out there. It changes in a rhythm. It moves in a flow. It sings and dances. Up and down, up and down, around and around and again and again. When It changes, we change. It happens not of us. It just happens. And we know that if It were to change, everything would change.
We know our place, our place in our world, by knowing It. We know our place, here and now, in relation to It. It was born with us, then and there. It made a place in us then and continues to make its place. Where It touches us, we and It are connected. It becomes for us our here and now. When we understand It without words, we speak Its language. When we understand It as a feeling, as this warmth, as an It, as that which It points to in us, It sometimes stays.
It stays with us as something in here, as something organic and beyond us and allows Itself to be related to. And if we remain still, It will show us what It is pointing to, what It is about. We may then, if we listen carefully be able to hear It speak to us. We may, if we listen carefully hear It call us. And we may, if we speak softly be able to call It. To give It a name. Only then does It come back to us again. It must come to us, this It being pointed to, this It we experience without words.
It remains for us to feel. It becomes alive for us as feelings. It starts to have a life within us. With time, It begins to grow and grow. It begins a life. It becomes organic and of this earth. We begin to notice It more and more. It begins to become real for us. It becomes created.
We give It a meaning. We relate to It with our 'yes' and our 'no'. We bless It or curse It. It finds a place in us, to receive It again. Oh and if we learn to love It, does It make us more open! It makes us want for Its return. We wait and hope for our It. For the It we love, to return. We wait and hope for the It that makes us happy to return.
And It comes to us, if we learn to let It in. If we learn to be open to It. It comes like a gift from out there. And when we learn to recognise It, when It becomes strong enough in us, we feel safe. We feel we can find our way back to It if we need It. We feel we know It and can recognise It again if we need It. Where It is, in relation to us. When It is this strong for us, It may even let us speak of It. It may let Itself be spoken about with others.
When It becomes for others, It becomes shared. It becomes of us and out there. When others come to see It, feel It, It becomes for them also. It makes Itself known to others. We know It when we see It in them. We know It when It makes itself known in others, because It feels familiar, like we have met before. We recognise It. When we recognise It, we feel good. It gives us an energy. It makes us feel good, this It we recognise. Like we have known It all along.
It feels the same and new, again. It feels the same and different. We feel It as It is now, and It connects with how It was. It returns, like an old friend has returned to us. It returns again like after being lost. It comes from out there and connects with Itself in here. It connects with what It was before in us. It makes sense and connects. To what It was before, when we were not yet. To what It has been before. To Itself.
And when It does, It gives. It gives of Itself and makes us feel good. It finds a home in us, if we let It in. Knock, knock. It wants to come visit. It comes to us again before It has to go again. It comes and goes. It comes and goes and some part of It stays in us. The part which will recognise It again, when It comes. When It comes to us again. When It repeats. Anybody home?
A Language of It
No matter how things may appear to be, everything is exactly the way It should be.
It It It. A noun, a verb, a phrase. It It It. Every sentence, It It It.
Even if it is not said, It is always there, waiting. All we need to do is call It.
A simple sound. Vibrating air. An “ehh” . Points. In this language. To an experience. To what this text is about. What was read. These dots. Connect. What is written. With what is left over. By “It”.
By Itself. It. Means nothing. It just points. For It to have meaning, It must point. To something real. To something organic. Of this earth. Only thus, can It have feeling. Only then, does It name what It represents. On Its own, It just points. Like an arrow without a bow.
Like a child. With a finger. Pointing to what It wants. Its meaning is given in a relation. By what is meant. Here. By what It is pointing to. By what It represents. By what It wants. Without representing, without meaning, without pointing It is just a finger. Without a child. Just a sound. Just It. An “ehh”.
In a way, It attempts to give meaning. To speak. With another. Described in this pointing. In this “ehh”. In this way It speaks. Of what is spoken about. By this pointing. Of what It wants. To bring to attention. For others. For Itself. By “It”. This It? This It? This It? Maybe This? Or This? Or This?
Its finger points to what’s on Its mind. In pointing. Like a symbol. For what It is about. For what “It” is pointing to. In relating to It. In referring to It. What It wants to focus on. What It wants brought to attention. What It would like to happen. Just now. To what It wants “It” to represent. To what It wants “ehh” to be about. Like a shortening. Like a pointing back to It.
Magically, It communicates. This child. It relates and wants to be related to. To see what It wants. To hear what It is. To understand what It means. When It points. With this finger. What It is attempting to say. To connect. What It is pointing to. With a feeling. With Its wanting.
It starts with It wanting. By having some ‘It’ for It to be. It then points. And continues to point until it is felt ‘It’ is understood. Until it is felt what It wanted “It” to be, is understood. That the meaning It wanted ‘It’ to have is understood. That It is given. The ‘It’, It wanted to communicate. The ‘It’ It wanted to be understood by “It”. When It communicated. When It wanted. When It pointed and said “ehh”.
It wanted what It wanted to be It for us. For this It, to be our It. To give us Its meaning. To communicate. To be understood. To see what It was pointing to. To get It. What was given by Its pointing. By Its wanting. For others. This It. Our It.
It wanted to be related to in this communication. It wanted Itself to become known. By pointing. It wanted our It to be the ‘It’ It was pointing to. When It was heard saying “ehh”. When It was wanting and pointing and getting attention. Its meaning was given by what It was pointing to. By what was intended in Its pointing. By what It wanted this to become. This what It wants. Our It.
It then listened. To see if It was understood. If our It was what It wanted It to be. If what happened was what It wanted to happen. If what was understood was what It wanted. With the It, It wanted to communicate. With the meaning It wanted “ehh” to give.
When It was understood, It heard “Yes” and was given what It wanted. A smile. It was understood because what It wanted happened. In a way consistent with It. With the ‘It’ It wanted to communicate. With the ‘It’ It wanted to become this. With the meaning It wanted “It” to have. With the meaning of our It. With what It means for us. In this way, “It” was heard.
‘It’ changes Its meaning. At one time, “It” means this. Then another It comes and ‘It’s meaning changes. In a way, ‘It’ means this, here and now. “It” is said differently. The “ehh” changes. Yet It communicates. It appears the same. The context changes. Its meaning changes. Every time. Each little 'It' is slightly different. Yet something the same remains about their pointing.
What makes ‘It’ different every time is the context. It stays the same. It points. The context changes. What It is pointing to changes. Where It is pointing changes. The places in which It is heard. Every time “It” is spoken. With every heartbeat. It means something slightly different. ‘It’ changes a little and yet some part of It stays the same. And the better this is known, the more easily It communicates.
Its meaning remains the same. ‘It’ always points to what It is about, now. What changes is the context. The way It is connected. The way It gives meaning. What It is pointing to. For it to have meaning there needs to be a context. It must have a context to have a meaning. It cannot have meaning without a context. Without it, It simply points.
It is always the same and different. What It points to changes and with them “It”. ‘It’ looks the same and yet It means different things. It depends on the context. On what is pointed to by It and what It means to point to. Every time It is said, “It” becomes a new ‘It’. ‘It’ is different for every It. “It”s relation to It changes. To the It meant for us. Our It.
‘It’ is used often in language. In fact, this ‘language’ does not make sense without It. “It” can be heard being used again and again and again. “It” appears in ordinary language all the time. What It points to may be simple or complex. Yet if It’s real 'It' must be able to be sensed. To be touched or seen, or felt or related to in a real way. If ‘It’ couldn’t be, It wouldn’t be.
It almost always points to what is beyond. To what is out there. In the world. To what can be related to. In language, ‘It’ functions like a brick, to build meaning. Those who speak “It” build Its meaning for those hearing It. It becomes for them. ‘It’ is used to build, anything. Like with bricks.
Hey! Yes, you! What do you mean by 'It' here? What is meant by “It” at all? When you say we all know this 'It'? When you say, we just use different words to talk about ‘It’? Well, the It we are talking about is known to us, right? ‘It’ is everywhere. That's why It’s so easy. Every person uses It. ‘It’ describes the weather. ’It’ is also used to describe paintings, cities, music.
In relation to time, ‘It’ usually describes what is happening for It now. ‘It’ describes Its place. Where It is. Now. In the world. Beyond us. To describe what happened already or what will happen in future. We can also do things to ‘It’. Make ‘It’, sell ‘It’, speak ‘It’, love ‘It’, hate ‘It’, need ‘It’, be ‘It’.... ‘It‘ can also be an action. ‘What we are doing’, ‘what we are thinking’, ‘what we are feeling’, ‘what we would like’,.... Everybody knows it. Everybody can use it. 'It' is easy to learn and must be learned to speak. Children learn It, well?
It also is even when we are not speaking! Yes, it can also be ‘what is seen’, ‘what is thought’, ‘what is felt or heard’. It can also be something forgotten or not yet known. It is what is in our attention. It can even be what we know that we don't know! Yes. Its meaning is given. Yet It needs to be interpreted. To decide what It wanted to point to. This little ‘It’. With Its ‘ehh’.
Without ‘It’ languages wouldn’t make sense. It couldn’t think without ‘It’. Using a Language of It: It makes sense of our language. We remember ‘It’, forget ‘It’, think about ‘It’, try ‘It’, do ‘It’ and so on. When It is present, It is always here and now. ‘It’ is ‘what we are doing’, ‘what is happening’. But it can also be ‘something that has happened’ or ‘what we want to happen in the future’.
It can be spoken about even when the words to describe It are not yet. Even then, It has a context. Even then, It means this ‘It’. This what words cannot describe. And we can speak of It as “It”. And in our experiences and this dialogue and this language and us and with time, ‘It’ will take shape. ‘It’ will begin to connect with what It already knows. To relate to the It not yet known. Which ‘It’ is used to represent. The ‘It’ being spoken about. What ‘It’ is pointing to. And what It is pointing to. And what “It” is about.
‘It’ can also be a place. In fact, ‘It’ always has a place. And a time. It must. Always. To be real. Have a place in the world. If It's real, ‘It’ has a place in the here-now. It is somewhere. Somewhere in the world. It means nothing when It points to Itself. By Itself. Otherwise It only points. To empty words. To nothings. And this place It is. Where It is located. It changes over time. With the context. It changes and ‘It’ stays the same. It flows.
'It' changes with the speakers. ‘It’ changes with the topic. With what ‘It’ is about. With what It is pointing to. It changes with what is on our minds. So what remains the same? Answer: ‘It’ does. The 'It' that points. It changes and ‘It’, the pointing, stays the same. It is experienced. ‘It’ ‘the experience’ of what is experienced. Always same and different. Always It and ‘It’ and a relation. A connection. Between them.
So where did It come from? There must have been a first ‘It’, right? It didn't just come about from nothing, right? Someone must have said "It" for the first time, right? If Its real... Someone must have introduced It into this conversation. For the first time. Some It must have had an ‘It’ it wanted “It” to be. ‘It’ must have been seen for the first time. It has to have a story, right? If a time when It started is to be believed. If history is to be believed.
So will It finish or does It just continue. With or without us. Maybe It has always been and we are the ones who started?
So, can ‘It’ be without us? Is It something that was here before us and will be here after us? Maybe It is not so simple after all? What is interesting about this little word, is that 'It' can be used to point to complex things just the same as it can be used to point to simple things. It can be used to point to objects just the same as it can be used to point to things we find difficult to put in words. We use it to speak about emotions or art or the meaning of a film for example. To describe a mood in a place. Our feeling when we where there. A purpose. A destiny. ‘It’ can be used to describe feelings just the same as it can be used to describe ‘how we feel’ or ‘the process of feeling’. But can It have feelings? If so, how does It feel?
Does this sentence about It make any sense? Can It feel? Well, the It that 'It' points to can and does feel!!! Again, does 'It' feel? Well, it depends. It depends on what we mean by It. Here. The It we mean. As It suggests Itself here from the context. We all know this It because we are this It!!! We 'are' this It! But can this It feel without us or outside of us? This It, this big It. Does It have feelings?
What would It mean here? Can It do things like we do things? Or are we just so used to talking about It as though It was a human being??? Does it make sense to talk about It as something different from a person? For It to be, it needs to point to something. Something real. Something we can see or hear or feel. Something organic!!! Also, this It needs to be within our ability to understand. We must be able to relate to It.
It's also always something beyond a 'person' or in other words ‘a person's understanding’ of It? If It's always there, are we able to see It. Where did this It come from? Has It always been there? Is It always here, even now? Maybe it is we who have become and It has always been. Is this It possible? This It we all have a different understanding of.
Does it even make sense to say someone's understanding of It, this 'It' we have in common, is better than someone else’s It? If these 'Its' are only ever our 'Its' how can we compare Its? Is there anything the same about these 'Its' at all? The answer about It is always yes and no because 'It' comes to us in signs!!! In pictures, words and feelings...
We can only always see 'It' our way, from our perspective. We can only ever see our 'It'. If we think about 'It' some more, we would realise that there must be as many 'Its' out there as there are people. If 'It' is the perspective a person has, then there are many 'Its' out there. As many Its as there are people!!! And if we sense 'It', how can we think about how other people sense 'It'?
Can we believe that the 'It' that other people see or are, is something like our’s. Our It. How many 'Its' are there? Can we count It? Can we divide It into bits? Is It possible to think about It at all? And does it make sense to speak about 'It' at all? Is there something about It that is the same for us so that we can speak of It at all??? If there was, who would be right about It? How would we decide what is 'It' and what is left over?
So, we all have different perspectives of It. We have our 'It' or ‘It for us’. When we sense It, we sense It for ourselves. Only we can know what It means to us. Sometimes we have trouble putting It into words. Words don't work very well with It, this big It. In fact, when we call It something, It changes.
As soon as we give It a name for example, Its meaning changes. The act of putting a meaning to It, changes It!! By giving meaning, we are putting a context to It. Our context. We put It into our place and see It in a place out there. It's meaning also depends on the way we are when we see It, say It.
Its meaning depends on the perspective we give It. What becomes clear is that It has different parts. One part is the 'It' we mean when talk about something out there. As in beyond us, in the world. Then we have the ‘It’ that is It within us, the ‘It’ that It senses. The It that senses here and now. That does the sensing. The It that we would call our 'Self'.
Finally, we have the big It that is beyond us all. The It that has always been, the It that brought us into being. The It we would mean if we were to say: It is life. The It we would talk of as being everything outside of us. Here we see, that language and It are a tough mix!! Even if It is difficult to put these 'Its' into words, we all know these Its! We must know these Its to be alive at all!!! What is challenging is learning the boundaries of It. Learning how It works. How It is connected. To learn what is our It and what is not-It and what is It.
To learn what is It and what is not-It??? How can this be??? How can we learn of something we can't put into words?? Well, we can start talking about It using a language that fits better with It. We can talk about It using a Language of It. For example to say the above again using a Language of It we could say: big It is the It that gave It to us. Are you getting this now?? Are you getting a sense of It???? Are you getting a feel for It???? Does this It that gave It to us make sense to your It?
There you have It. All three Its in one sentence!!! Where did you look? Which sentence? How did you know this was the sentence being talked about here??? Interesting?????
Let me tell you how It be. It is in every sentence. In the language of It: we have the It we are speaking of, the It it points to and the It which is its context. All three are necessary to give It meaning. We have an ‘It’ as a word, an It as a speaker, and the context of It. This last It also includes the place It occurs. Its time-space. With every new sentence we have a new It. As the sentences are connected in time-space, there is a connection between Its. By our It.
The speaker gives the connection and the listener interprets the meaning given, what It points to, from the context and from what is said or in this case written. By using a Language of It, we are making It more obvious. There's probably no other way to speak about It either. Language and It are not the same. It is what language points to. Language is what is used to talk about It. Finally, the last It, this ‘Big It' is what has given us language to start with!!!!
To understand the meaning of It, we need to get a sense of these three Its in turn. We all have a sense of these Its. We are these Its!!!!
To understand It better, we need to get a better sense of how these Its relate to each other. How the It that speaks relates to the language that is spoken. How the language that is spoken relates to what is pointed to by It. Finally, how we can get a sense of what is left over. What the It is, that is not the other two Its.
Some have called these three Its, sign, signifier and signified. The sign is the word or thought or feeling or sound or sight. The signifier is the way this word or thought or feeling or sound or sight comes to us. The signified is what happens when these two, the sign and the signifier come together in us.
Using another language, we can talk about body, mind and world. Body is what does the pointing, mind is what makes sense of It and the world is where It comes from. Here the world should be understood as what is beyond our relation mind and body or in short us. What is not us. Not-It!!!!
Finally, remember we are only ever able to see, think, feel, hear our own It and rely on language and a sense of what we know about It to interpret other peoples perspectives. To get It, we need to get a sense of how It divides our world or our 'Big It'. We also need to get a sense of what is doing the dividing or our inner It. We also need to get a sense of how our inner It relates to the It that is not us. That ‘Big It’ that we come from. Then we need to get a sense of how these Its relate to each other over time or the process of It.
Once we understand the process of It, we can start to see how It works. Finally, if we are able to get a sense for how It works, we can start looking at how It can be influenced or in other words how It influences us. Getting this last sense enables us to achieve a powerful state which enables what we want. In other words, enables what happens and how we relate to what happens.
As with grammer in a language, there are many types of relations between words in terms of tense, voice and meaning. Language is our greatest clue to understanding It and using the Language of It we can perhaps discover the grammer of It, or how It repeats over time. Its grammer describes the forms It takes. The patterns It makes and how It relates to us.
The key to understanding It, is getting a sense of Its place in us. To say this again more accurately, the way It reflects in us. Consider the following.
It relates to us over our lifetime. From our first breath, to our last. It gives life to us. It gives life to what has given life to us. It was before us and will continue to be after us. It is always somewhere. In the world beyond us. In a position in relation to us. There was a time when we did not know It even though It was there. And then came a time when we saw It for the first time and felt Its warmth.
Since then, when we became aware of It, It has always been for us, so long as we have been. It has always been even though we may not sense It then and there. It was always somewhere in relation to us. So that at any given moment It was somewhere and we where somewhere. And we can think about this relation between It and us continuing like a path over time.
And on this path, It moved and we moved. And every time It was somewhere, we were somewhere. And we can see this relation of It and us over time as a line. A line representing the relation of It and us, from our first day to our last. We can also imagine that on this line, we were and It was and there was this relation between ‘us and It’ and ‘It and us’. We can call this relation of It to us ‘our perspective of It’, of this It that was before us and will continue to be after us.
We can also imagine this relation as a repetition over a period of time. Even though we may not remember every day that we and It were in some relation, we know that It must have been somewhere in relation to us. And that Its place in the world could be specified exactly in any given moment. And that our place could also be specified somewhere in relation to It, such that we could precisely point to a specific place on this path and on this line representing the relation of our body to our It in any given moment.
In relation to our three Its. One of them is like our experience of this It. It is what we see and feel and hear to be our It, at this moment. This It is the relation we speak of. Our perspective of It. Another It is this relation of It as It is for others with our It. This It that is out there with It as It is for us in here, over time, as this path, as this line, as our perspective of It. And even though, we can only ever know It as our It, we usually think of It when we experience It as this relation on our path that It nevertheless is there somewhere. Beyond us. Even when we may not sense It here and now.
And we know that It must be there somewhere or else we wouldn’t be here at all. We know that It is real and we feel It and see It from time to time and experience It directly on this path that is this line, that is time, that is this relation of us and It. And we know that even though we may not sense It, It still is somewhere in relation to us and that we could find It, or locate It if we wanted to at any point.
And even though we know It is out there and we know that others see It, we know that we can only ever know what It is like for us. We can only ever imagine what It is like for others, of how others relate to their Its. Really we can only ever know our Its, or It from our perspective. However, every time we see It, we see It as we saw It and we also know It was then and there and here and now in a way new. That It is like the way, we saw It before, that there is something of what It was like before in what It is now but at the same time It is slightly different.
That It’s moving. That It’s flowing. That It changes over time and our relation with It changes over time. Even though we can say at any given moment, exactly where It was and where we were and even if we cannot sense It at this time. And this It and our experience of It repeats like this over time along this line and this path and in fact ‘is’ our ‘experience of It’. In that our relation with It and this connection over time is what we know It as.
So, we get a sense of It continuing, as we experience It from our perspective. And we know that when we see It again somewhere we are in a slightly different place on this line, that is this path, that is time and so is It. And we know that even though It is different, It is the same It we saw yesterday and will probably see tomorrow. And just like It, we are in some specific place in our world every time we see It or experience It or think of It or...
And just like others, we recognise It for what It is, and can relate our experience or perspective of It with others. And when we hear them speak of It we get a sense of their perspective of It and can in some ways compare our perspective of It and understand that It would relate in much the same was as It does for us from our perspective. For example, we would say that even if they saw It tomorrow, they would also think It the same and different to what they see or know today, even though they know It changes and is changing over time.
We also know that It is in motion and that it is changing and that we can only ever have an image of It as It is changing, as this movement as this image and relation of us and It in our places and that this is what we know as our It. And if we combine It with how It was before, we get a sense of how It will be tomorrow.
Now just like we can think of our relation in space, between us and It, we can also think of our relation in experience as a reflection of this relation in space. We can think of this line on this path that is our relation between us somewhere as our relation of us and It in our experiences. We can think of a line which connects one experience we have had of It with another experience we have had of It as a reflection of this relation of us and It in this world. Our world. As this It. As the path, which It make in us. As our experience of It. As the experience we have of It at that time connected with how It was and how It will be.
And we could say that these two, the path and the line are one and the same, being our It. But we could also say that they are the same It seen from different perspectives. One from the perspective of It and us from the outside as others would see It and one from the perspective we have of It, from the way we experience It personally. And even though we may talk about It in both ways, we would usually agree that we are talking about the same It, only from a different view point. So again the same and different.
So we could say we have this line which is this path which is the connection of our experiences of It and that these relations express a connection with how It was out there with how It is in here, or Its reflection in us. We can also imagine that this path is made up of instances of It where we have experienced It directly as this experience in this context and that these experiences are somehow connected in us by this It that is our experience.
The last ‘It’ is the It that we experience here and now, as ‘this relation’. As ‘this It’. As this child which points, here and now. As this pointing. As this moment. As the combination of Its that make up our experience of It from our perspective or our It. Which we imagine in some ways being similar for others or their Its, as this experience we share in having this experience of It. Here ‘It’ is this moment, and this feeling and this sight and this sound and this smell and this place and this day and this context. It is this point on this line, on this path, that is time, that is our relation of It and It.
It is the combination of the first It and the second It. It is the experience It as we are having It right now. As this warmth. As the meeting point on this line, which is our life of It and It. Of It the world as we imagine others to see It and It our world as It is for us. As the It that was before us and the It that is our perspective of this It. From this point, in this place on this line. From where It is, on this path that is our experience of this world in time. From the place in this world as this place in this world.
When we relate this last It to others, we use signs to speak of It. We use language. As though It was something we all know. Of an experience we all know. An experience which relates something out there and in us. Relating our image of It, with what It means to us here and now or what It meant to us then and there. We put It into context, into words with relations to other words and know these words are not It or our experience of It. Just words. Just ‘ehh’. Just our attempt to communicate It.
We know these words are simply a way of relating It. Our way of pointing to how It was for us once, just a moment ago and maybe even still. And this relation and us, as we are in that moment, and the experience we have is this third It. As this point on this line that is our experience of the It that is our It over time. As the relation of our signs, our ‘ehh’ and this place over time. As the way in which this point, and this what points and this what is pointed to are connected in us on this path, in this moment. As this moment.
And finally, those of us who know, know that there is a fourth It!!! What a fourth It!!!??? The It of this text. The It that is this line, that is this path, that is this relation of these three Its that is our life, in this moment. The It that is not words. The It that feels. That gives meaning to each moment. And by each moment to our life. As this feeling. As this giving. As this meaning. As our feeling of how we perceive our line. How It perceives us!!! How It makes us feel to be here and now. Happy??? Sad???
Not-It!!! Not our ‘ehh’!!! Not words. Feelings. Our Self. The It that was when we became for others as a body and not yet for us as an It. The It that was aware of this big It but not yet aware of Itself as an It. The It that we who know, not-It, as the It that is not what we are inside us as this difference in what is the same in us. As this reflection of this big It in us. As that part of the It that we are from, from which we became that remains in us so that we can recognise It when we see It again.
We have our image of It by how It makes us feel . And know that It relates to something beyond us, out there. And that It may never be known to us otherwise. As that which we are not and in some ways are. As that which we could become. In a way, as our perception of what is out there, this world, and what is ‘this world’ in us. The It that is with or without us, somewhere in here. In our It.
The It that was even before we were and even when we were not yet. It is the point where what is of It and what is of us, what is out there and what is in here meets. The It that is our experience of It as It is out there and our It is It in here. Relating It, our It only ever gives us only ever an image of not-It. Like putting together all of our perspectives of It, to get our perspective of this big It as It is today and then thinking of what It could be. Of this possibility as It.
Of what our It would look like when we are not looking at it, of what It may be like without us. Perhaps like before us. Like before we, as people, became. How silly It is to speak of an It, which nobody experiences!!!! Just like the It, our It, we also have an idea of how silly it is to speak of an It without a perceiver of It. That is Not-us. Like our It, for It to be, we need to be as this It that sees what It is pointing to, right?? Or is there an It which is this pointing??? As that which we experience as this It that is us in this moment as this which points. Hmmm???
Not-It also comes from beyond us. From out there. Surely It is from out there and we are only sensing It. This It that gives to us. This It that is in us that we are not. This It that is always in a relation to us, even when we are not thinking about It. As this not thinking, as this feeling. This not-It is also always in a relation to us, as us in us. And even though we may not be feeling It right now, we who know, know where not-It is and can find It if we stop looking. As this It that goes away and comes back. As this It that we believe is the same when It does, as when It was yesterday, but really is slightly changing. And always so as this changing. As this difference.
We who know, know it is changing all the time and that It changes what we see. And that if It were to change everything would change. That It changes what we see all the time. That It repeats. Like day and then night and then again and again and again. And although our It repeats, each day and night is different. And just like our belief that It revolves around us, some of us may realise that it is our It that revolves around It.
And also that It changes and is changing and makes a path like a shadow of It in us, like our shadow. And like this shadow, our shadow, we can only ever see It as this shadow if we are the sun!!! To see this It, the It from which we come. The It which reflects our sun like a shadow and makes a path, in our world like our sun. And has a life, as this path as this repetition of this day and night again and again and again. As this relation of these two to each other.
Three Its again!!! Three Its and a process!!!!! How it all relates, our sun and earth and us!!!! Getting warmer!!!!! What is the sun made of anyway???? It!!!!! The It that spins our sun!!!! The It we understand our sun to be!!!! The It some of us have already experienced!!!! As our sun!!!! As our most dearest It!!!!! The It that gives us meaning!!!!!! The It that makes us want to repeat!!!!!
That makes us want to repeat where It comes from, what It points to and what we are doing!!!!! Like our sun, whether we like It or not!!!!! Again and again and again!!!! The It that does us and gives us meaning!!! The It for which we have this path, and this life and this It and our Sun!!!! The It we are all trying to find!!! The It we are all looking for, whether we know It or not as this path as this life!!! As our path to It!!!! The path we must, whether we like It or not, take, like our sun!!!! Like our destiny!!! Like Its fate!!!!
Are you getting It now???? Are you feeling It?????? Now????? Maybe a sense of It????? The sun, the light, and It!!!! Flip??? Back to normal??? Again??? Back to normal again????
This last It, which could be described as the relation of the three Its described above is the biggest challenge to understand. This 'It' is challenging to understand because It can only be understood outside the context of the speaker, us, and the object, what we are speaking of, thinking about, feeling, wanting to do... Once we understand how these three Its come together or relate to each other as this relation of these three Its to each other.
As the relation of how It repeats over time. As the process by which It occurs over time. It's like getting a sense of how Its parts relate to each other as a whole which we can never be as a difference between us and It. Because when we see It, we become It, as this whole, that just is, as Itself. As this feeling of It pointing to Itself. This amazing feeling. By which It occurs in us, by relation in others and by another relation as this world for us out there. As this changing.
Oh and of course how It changes and where It is changing to. We know It changes and must change!! If we get a sense of how It changes, how It rises and falls, we can get a better sense of what happens when It changes and with It us. What is happening to us now and how It is changing us and the language we are using to relate what we experience as ‘It changing’.
How the It that speaks and the It that is what is spoken about relate over time. How the speaker relates to the It that It speaks about and how speaking occurs at all or in other words how we came to speak at all. Let’s take a closer look at each in turn by looking at how It develops in us. By looking at how we each develop. How It develops in each of us. The process by which It comes to be in us, from the point of us not being to the point of us understanding what It means, or what It is pointing to by Its pointing.
We could say we have It by seeing the pattern of the connection which It makes. The many examples of It we have. The many instances by which our three Its are connected. As us. As we. As many instances of the It that connects. As many instances of our three Its!!! As this word, this text and this meaning in this language. As in language, as in life, as in the hundreds and thousands of interpretations of It we have!! All our little 'It's. The ‘It’s we are speaking of and the Its we are now.
These little 'Its' as relations or instances of these big ‘Its’ and us. As that which we are as our experience of It. Is It starting to make sense now? Maybe a little? This big 'It' that makes sense of the little 'Its'. In a way, It does make sense then, hey??? Are you starting to get the sense of this sentence's meaning??? A sense for what this text is pointing to??? Are you feeling It???
How we can use this language of It to point to this It outside of us. To this It that does the sense making and how we can use a Language of It to speak of It and maybe show It???
If we have a language and we have It and we can use It to point to It, we can also talk about It, right? Are you starting to get a sense of which of these is the word, which the speaker and which the relation of the speaker and the world outside??? Again, It the speaker, It the language, It the relation of the language and the speaker??
As your sense of It develops, you will be able to tell which is which for you!!!!!!!! And how It works for you!!!!!!! And how It can be used to achieve what you want in your life and speak of things which are difficult to say in words using this language of It.
As this book is all about It, your sense of It will develop with every sentence. It is in every sentence. The process of It is in every sentence. Its meaning is revealed to you by the meaning of the words and the way they are used to connect. To point. The first step is to start a conversation about It with you. Yes, we can have a conversation about It. If we can write a book about It, we can surely also talk about It, right? We can also do a lot of other things in this relation with It.
We can be excited by It or depressed by It? All this depends. It depends on our relation with the It we have. On our It!! Do you like It? Are you in love with It? Do you hate It? It depends on our feelings in relation with It, remember? It also depends on the context, remember? It changes and is changing!! How is that possible??
You mean to say, It changes!! If It changes, then everything changes!! If everything changes, what stays the same?? It does. How can that be? It changes and It stays the same!!?? Well if that is the case you ask, then this It cannot be just one it, right? And if there is not just one It, we must have many Its, right?
We can think of It as something big and whole. We can think of 'It' as an example of It. In other words, an instance of It!! So if we have an instance of It, does this mean that it is not the same as It? Yes. So there is It which is big and whole and many little Its? How many? Well, heaps. Think about it!
There must be as many Its as there are people, right? So, who is right? Which It is the It??? Does this question about It even make sense? It does. It does? Yes, it does because we already know that It does not make sense without a context...
So what is the context of It? We are! We are the context of It? Yes! We give It meaning!!! What meaning do we give It? What does It mean? Can It mean just one thing??? The answer: It is what ever we want It to be!!!
Are you serious??? Yes! It can be whatever we want It to be!!! Are you happy about this? Does this news about It make you happy?? Do you understand It?? It can be anything!!! No, impossible!! Yes! Possible!!!Surely, It can't. There must be some rules about It, right? Surely, It must be some things and not other things, right? Surely, we can say that this sounds like It but this does not fit with It. Can we talk like this about It?? Yes! Why?
Because we only ever know our It!!! We only ever know It for us!!! And if we are the ones who know, how can we be wrong about It??? How can we say to ourselves, this It that we know, It's not It!!! How can this make sense??? Are there many Its?? And if there are many Its, then how is It different from 'It'? Well, we can give It a meaning. Before this book, there was no such thing as It!!!!!
No. Impossible!!! Yes, possible. It has the meaning we give to It!! You mean, any meaning? Yes, any meaning!! So what, does It mean. We have already said this. Must you be reminded?? It is anything you want It to be!!! Ok then. No worries?
But, if we have 'our' It- then how can we talk about our It with other people?? We humans are a social animal and we like to communicate. We enjoy it. Well, we can talk about It just like we talk about every other it. Simple. No? It is not simple, this is true but the way to talk about It is!!! Do you understand It so far?? Let's summerise: Every It and every instance of It is complex but the way to speak about It is simple!!! So how can we talk about It you ask???
Hmm,this is a worry!!! We are talking about It now!!! How is that possible? How can you be talking and reading??? Well, you figure it out for your Self, that is your job!! Do you have to? No. You can continue to live your life just like you have never heard of It. So, what's so special about It, you ask? Well, It's special. How do you know? Because special is what fits with It for me!!!
Make It special for you!!! Give It value!!! Give It a meaning!!! Make It, what you want to achieve in your life!! Make It, you deepest darkest secret!!! Make It, the way you meet your other half!!! Make It, the happiest moment in your life!!! Make It, the happiest moment in your life and then make It the way to have this happiest moment in your life again and again and again and again.
Surely this It does not exist!!! It sounds too good to be real. Hello my friends- It's real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No way!!! Yes, way!!!!! You mean to say that this It exists!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!! You mean to say that there is an It that means my happiest moment again and again and again and again. Yes!!! How so??????????????????????? Well, first things first. For It to have meaning, you must be, right. Your happiest It cannot be without you, right? You agree!!! Yes?
Ok, then how can we make It happen? How did It happen the first time, my It. It just happened, didn't it? We never did anything special for It to happen. It just happened!! Does this sound like It for you??? Are you getting It now... Is all this talking about It making you remember It??? Yes! Hmm, interesting yes? Do you like It??? Yes? So we each have our It, or have had our It. So how can we make It happen again and again and again.
Is It interesting for you now? Do you want It to happen again and again and again? Me too. So, how can we work together to make It happen, you ask??? Well... We may need to agree on some things about It first. Can we agree on some things about It??? Can we all agree some things about It??? Is It possible? Yes! Why?
It's possible!!! Well, we are talking about It now. Your It and my It are the same and different. Again??? There are things about your It that are the same as my It and there are things about your It that are different from my It. Is this bad? No. Your It is It for you. My It is It for me. Sometimes our Its will be similar sometimes different. This is just the way It is. Neither good nor bad. Just It.
If our Its agree we would say, your It sounds like my It. The It which is It for you feels like the It which is It for me or vice versa. And if our Its don’t agree or don’t connect we would say that they sound different. Just this, neither good nor bad. Is this bad? No. Remember, all we need to do is concentrate on our It! On what is It for us!! That’s the deal. Just this. Our It.
Can we do this? Yes. We all need to be responsible for our own It! Only we can know our It, remember. Only we see the meaning It has for us and only we can believe that this meaning is good for us!!!! Our happiest moment, again and again and again is our happiest moment. The moment which makes each of us happy again and again and again. It's different for you and different for me. It makes me happy or gives me energy. Your me and my me!!! What we have different mes???
Well, yes! Everybody's me is happy with different things. Or speaking the language of It, It is different for every ‘me’. Are you getting this language? Slowly? Are you beginning to feel It? Slowly? Is It happening for you now? Can you make It happen? Do you want to? Yes, yes, yes???
So how can we help each other to get this It? Can we share It? Yes! How? By talking about It silly!!! Can talking about It make It happen for us? Maybe. Can feeling It and sharing It with other people make It happen? Yes, definitely!!!!! Can you feel It? Are you feeling It now? Are you starting to know what It means? Your It and my It and our Its separately and put together.
Are you getting It? Now? So are you remembering It or is It happening again? Does It matter??? Does It matter how we get It?? Do we care if our It is different to other people's It? Does it matter if It must be different for us? Is our It better than other people's It? Does it make sense to compare Its???? What do you think???
Ok, but does my It and me wanting my It hurt other people? In a way, does my wanting to get It prevent other people from getting their It?? Does my striving to achieve It prevent other people from achieving their It? Does it? No. Why? Because every It is different. There are as many Its as there are people, remember!!
Wait, you say- but what if my It is an it, an object, real and organic? Surely, there are not enough objects for everybody, right? Yes! So what can we do? We can agree on some things about It again.Well, can we agree about It again?? Can we make It a feeling?? Can we agree to make It a feeling??? Can we? Well....
So if It is a feeling, does It mean that if I am feeling It then other people are not feeling their It?? Well, we must choose. We must choose or agree about It!! Can we agree about It? Do you not remember that we have already agreed that It can be whatever we want It to be!!! We have already agreed that It is what ever you want It to be for you and mine for me, and his for him and hers for her and theirs for them and ours for us... But of all these Its, the most important It is the It which is It for you and vice versa, right? Can we agree?
Yes, you say? But you say, how can we all agree about It. There are so many of us and you say that there are so many Its. Yes, but we are only ever and can only ever be in contact with our It. And the people we are in contact with are only ever in contact with their It. With what ever is their It, or It for them at any given time!! What you say? But there are so many people and then there’s only just me.
Yes, but when we are in contact with others, we are only ever in contact with people who are around us here and now, right? We are only ever in contact with the people we are speaking with, living with, working with, visiting, passing, partying, dancing.... So we are never in contact with all the people and never in contact with all the people all the time, right? So, go figure!!!
For It to work, we only need to agree our It with the people we care about or need to care about, right? We only need to agree that there is this It and that this It is there for all of us and that we all have our own It and that this It is the most important It for us and that each of us has this It which is important for each of us and that we should respect, right? Can we agree on this It? Can It agree with us??? This It that we are talking about, this It we are calling!!
Are we calling It? Well, do we want to? Do we want to find out what It looks like when we are all working together each of us in their own way towards achieving It and sharing our experiences about It??? Is this not what we are doing anyway??? Is this not what we have to do whether we like It or not???
Yes, but we are doing this without knowing It. And now we know It, you and me and through us other people will get to know It, right? Can we agree? Can we teach and pass It to others? Can we share It with others??? Do we want It??? Do we love It, our It so much we want It no matter what??? Do we want It to infect us like a virus? Do we want to let It into our life??? Do we want It to happen to us again and again and again? Can we agree? Can we agree that our striving for It is good?
What do you mean this good? Well, can we agree that this striving for It, this making It happen is good for us? For each of us? Do we need to answer this question? If we can't agree on It, can we agree on separate Its. Can we agree on our own Its? Do we have any other choice?
Well, some people's It will be more like our It, right? Some people's It will feel closer to ours. And naturally, we will be attracted to these people and together with these people to their Its, right? Can we agree on this? Do we want to agree on this? Do we care enough about our It to agree about It???
So what is this It? What is this It for you? What do you mean, when you say "My It". When you say, ‘that’ sounds like my It and ‘that’ does not feel like my It. Is this It not something inside you? This feeling It that you were talking about before. Is this It not something that we ourselves experience? And only we? Well, in a way yes. But we can tell when people are experiencing It? Can't we?
How do these people who are experiencing their It look like? Well, happy!!! You mean just simply happy? Yes- they have an energy. Why? Because they have found their It!! And are doing It again and again and again. And these people who have found their It are happy and want to share their It with others. They want others to know their It because It is the most important thing for them!!! It gives them energy!! Like a wheel, again and again and again...
So how do we find our It? What are we looking for? Well we have already said a feeling!! We need to feel It inside and then we need to find ways to make this feeling feel Itself again and again and again. When you focus your attention on It- this feeling, you will see It everywhere!!! It will come alive for you!!! Will It? Do you promise? Yes. It will. It does. Always.
Really? Is this It real? Is this It you speak of really real??? Well, yes it is. It is real. We are speaking about It now aren't we, you and me. Aren't we? Well aren't we??? And if we are speaking about It aren't we giving It meaning? Aren't we creating It as we are speaking about It? Aren't we making It up??? What you say?? You are making this up?? Then It's not real??? If you are making It up then It's made up and if It's made up then It can't be real, right???
Well, if It is being created or made up what are you feeling? Are you not feeling It now? How does It feel for you? Does It feel real? Do you want to talk about It with me? Well, do you? Do you not want to share this It? Do you not want to make this It real? Do you not want to give this It a meaning!!! Do you not want to make It real for you?? Is It real? Well, can we agree that It is? Can we?? Can we really???
What do you mean by this agree, you say? Can we agree that It ‘is’ real? That It ‘has’ a meaning, a meaning that only we each know and that we each can talk about and share with other people by speaking of It? And if you found your It, would you not speak of It? Would you not speak of It and would not It be the topic of your every conversation? Is not It the topic of your every conversation? Isn't It? Well if It's not, what are you waiting for?
Have you not already experienced It once. At least once. Would you not want to experience It again. And again and again and again. Wouldn't you? You would? Would you? Yes? Yes!- Yes! Yes! Yes! One hundred times yes! If not one hundred times yes then your It and my It are not the same? Are they the same? Are they the same for us both? Your It- one hundred times for you and my It one hundred times for me? Yes? Yes! Yes! Yes! Can we not agree? Can we not do It? Make It happen?
So you know It now? You know your It? You know what It feels like for you? And you can imagine what It feels like for others? Can you? Can you really? It feels like It feels for you!!! You mean It feels? What is this It that feels? How can an It feel? How can this It that feels be the same It as the It it was before? What- how can it? Is this possible?
You mean there are many Its??? Yes. Every It is the same and different. Is this It the same as the It it was before? Yes. How do you know? Well, is It still It? No? Is this possible? Is there not something about It that is similar in every It. Something the same about this It that is the same as the other Its? What other It? So which It is the one? Which It is the one that's real? Well- this It! Always this It!!!
This It is real, this feeling It? So has this feeling It changed? Is this It that was, still It? Yes! It is still!! How? Because we are creating It. We are continuing to create It! Again and again? Yes! Again and again and again. Are we creating It? Are we not? Aren't we?
So what is this It you write about? What is this It you write in these sentences? What is this It you call your It? What you call my It? What is it you mean when you write this It with the capital letter? This It which you are writing again and again? This It you say is your It?
Well, It is what It is for me!! What is written here. What is being shared with you. What is writing these words!! What you say???? It is writing these words, this your It? Yes. My It is writing these words!! Well how do you know your It is writing these words?? Well, isn't It my It? Isn't It clear to me what It is? What It is that's writing these words? Isn't It clear to me and only me? Just like your It is clear to you and only you???
If It wasn't, what would all these words be about?? What would be the sense of reading these words, of using this It, of making It happen? Sharing It? Is my It not the same as your It? What are you doing? Can you be trusted? Are you safe? Are you not crazy? Are you not perhaps crazy about this It- this It of yours?
Maybe. Maybe even yes? So who is asking these questions? You or me? Are these your questions? Are these words your words or mine? Is this mine not mine? Is this It not mine? This It, which is written in these sentences. This feeling which is feeling this feeling It?
Well. What do you think? What thinks your It? What you say? My It? Isn't It your It? Have you infected me with your It? Has this It of yours come into me? Is this possible? Will this It of yours now happen for me again and again? Well do you want It to? Do you want this It to be yours? Do you? Is It happening for you? Now? This It? This new It? Well? How well? Nice? How nice? Stronger? More pepper? Hey?
Who is asking these questions? Who is making sense of this It? And, and, and what does this It all mean- this feeling It, this It with a capital letter? This It which keeps appearing in these sentences again and again and again. This It which we are sharing? It? This It or the one before or maybe the one to come? All these Its? Ohhh- so many Its??? What would you have? That we be happy? That these Its happen to us again and again and again?? Who are you??? Who is speaking? Who is writing? Who is reading? Who is making sense? Who?
Who, you? Me? Me! No you! No me! This It, it's my It? Isn't It? Yes? Yes! A hundred times yes? So where does this It that speaks come from? Isn't It just a memory? Isn't It just something we have already experienced? Isn't It something in the past that has already happened somewhere before. Maybe yes? Maybe no? Yes or no? Make up your mind!!! Who you? Or me? Whose mind are we making up? Whose mind does this It belong to??? What is this It and where does It come from? Answer me!!!! and me answers.....
This It which comes to you was before you were. It existed before you and before me? Where? In other people. It existed in other people? Yes! In other people. And what do you mean before me? This makes no sense? How can we experience something before us? We have to be to experience, right? Yes! But there was a time before you and me, when we were not yet here.
When we were both just thoughts in our parent’s minds, right? What do you mean? Well, before we became bodies, that is organisms, that is real, that is who we are today, physically, we were not yet here, once, right? Our parents had thoughts of us, but we were not yet. Not us exactly, who we are now, who we have become but who we grew from.
They called these thoughts their children. They thought of us as children, like we, who may think thoughts of our children who are not yet bodies, not yet real. Just thoughts. So where would our parents get these thoughts of us from? Well, from others? From others who have children and from child bearing. From the way the world is, from what they know about this world.
Ok then, what do these thoughts have to do with you and me? Well, in our case, we could call these thoughts that our parents had of us before we came to this earth, expectations of us. Expectations of how we would be and of what we would become. Can we not agree that who our parents are, what our parents want for us has an influence on who we are today? Can we not agree that who we are today is in part the result of our parents? Must we not agree this?
Must we not agree that were it not for our parents and for their expectations of us, before we became, when we were not yet, we would not be who we are today? Must we not agree that we all come from our mother's womb? Must not all people, every single one of us not agree that this is so? That we came from our mother's womb, well, didn't we?
Didn't we all? Well, yes and no? We all came from our mother's womb but we didn't, or did we? Well- did we? Yes you are right! We, who are reading these sentences, did not come from our mother's womb but we may agree that our bodies must have, right? These eyes which grew and grew from that moment until now and which are reading these words did not fall out of the sky, right?
Ok, so let's go back a bit in this story, this story of yours about this It and this where did It come from? How would we call this story? The psychology of It you say.
